Parathion-ethyl [Kurzw. aus O,O-Diethyl-O -(p-nitrophenyl)thionophosphat]; Syn.: Ethylparathion: O2N—C6H4—O—P(S)(OC2H5)2; Common Name für eine gelbe knoblauchartig riechende, giftige Fl., Sdp. 375 °C, die – ebenso wie das entspr. Methylderivat (Parathion-methyl) – als Insektizid, Akarizid u. Aphizid (z. B. E 605®) eingesetzt wird.

Parathion
 
[zu griechisch theĩon »Schwefel«] das, -s, E 605®, ein Thiophosphorsäureester (chemisch das Diäthyl-p-nitrophenylthiophosphat), der als Insektizid und Akarizid gegen Blattläuse, Käfer, Raupen und Spinnmilben verwendet wird. Parathion wirkt als Berührungs-, Fraß- und Atemgift; es hat eine hohe Warmblütertoxizität (LD50 3,6-13 mg/kg Ratte).
